Armed with all the Police classics, in a sold out Mile One Centre,Sting took the stage and opened his show with Driven To Tears, and Legal Allien. The stage was small and very clean looking. The Sound set up was a little sparse with no extra delays for the die hards in the rear.
At 61 yrs, in his signature white tee shirt, and under a fantastic light show, Sting continued throughout the evening with Feilds of Gold, Demolishion man, Wrapped around your finger. Towards the end of the night he wooed fans with classic favorites such as Roxanne, Walking On The Moon, Do Do Do Da Da Da, and closed the show with King Of Pain, and Every Breath You Take.
The over all performance was Fabulous and fans showed support with their reaction to each song and solo performance, with Standing Ovations.
For me the highlight of the evening came mid way. Sting paid tribute to Johnny Cash by performing one of his hits I Hang My Head. This song was written by Sting, and Johnny made it a hit. This song is one of two country songs written by Sting that became a hit, with the other being the 1996 I’m So Happy I Can’t Stop Cryin, which reached number 2 in 1997 when re-done as a duet with Toby Keith.
I asked a pair of Cougars who were sitting next to me, to rate Sting, this is what they said!! “most 23 yr olds couldn’t where those jeans like that”,so I took that as a 10.
