Style: R&B, Soul, Blues, Jazz, Gospel. She did a Willie Nelson cover, and her songs fall in that genre of music.

Technicalities: There were no technicalities, it was overall an amazing show. Halfway through her set people started dancing when she started playing the harmonica for some of her songs.

Crowd: Upon arriving, I thought the place was as packed as it would be all night, as the only place to sit was at the bar on a stool. Contrary to what I thought, by the time Dorothy Moore started playing, even more people had showed up and there was nowhere left to sit; some people had to stand up in the back or on the side. There were definitely a lot more people than I had expected. It was a very pleasant surprise to see people show up for a very old fashioned type of show.

Memorable Song/Moment: During Dorothy’s Grammy nominated song “Misty Blue”, she decided to get off the stage and walk around the bar while singing. She was shaking hands with audience members and was given a bouquet of roses when she got back on the stage. When the song ended, she announced that she loved her fans and she was given a standing ovation. It was a great way to end a show.

Another memorable moment is when she announced she had CD’s with her. I had assumed she meant that they were for sale until she grabbed a few in her hand and began launching them at people in the audience. It was really amusing to see a 66 year old woman throwing CD’s at her fans.

Sex Appeal: Dorothy was dressed head to toe in yellow and brought so much happiness on stage with her. It brought a smile to everyones face to see her having so much fun being there. You could tell she was loved by everyone there, and she looked beautiful.
