We Were Heads, an ambitious trio of talented musicians hailing from Toronto, Ontario, released their new music video for the single “Great Canadian Rock Song” on January 28, 2014. The song is the band’s first single from their upcoming 7” split EP with fellow Toronto rockers Les Expulses to be released in late February. The 7” vinyl split will expand both the band’s reach in the local music scene and the accessibility of their music via vinyl. The group will lend their own unique touch to the split, which will be distributed throughout their hometown and encourage growth of their lively fan base.
Inspired by the influential 90’s bands that came before them, We Were Heads’ alternative-indie sound has been compared to Fugazi, Dinosaur Jr., as well as Kut You Up.
“[Great Canadian Rock Song] expresses our bands interest in current weirdo garage-rock while half sarcastically creating an homage to alternative Canadian rock from the 90’s. The video sticks with the theme of a 90’s music video shot all on VHS and edited exclusively through old video mixers,” said drummer Evan Sidawi.Â
