Final programming for the 20th Bal en Blanc and timetables for the three rooms revealed

Bal En Blanc

Bal En Blanc

Montreal, April 15, 2014 — Springtime in Montreal is never completely under way until Bal en Blanc takes place. So it’s perfect timing that the 20th edition of the annual event is happening this Sunday at Palais des congrès, and everything is in place to transform this anniversary into a night as hot as it is unforgettable. Following the late cancellation of Nervo because of family circumstances, a few changes have been made to the lineup in the three rooms (Arenas) devoted respectively to electro house (EDM), tech-house and trance.

First of all, originally scheduled for Arena 3, Carnage is shifting his devastating rhythms to Arena 1, where he’ll take the place of Nervo in the company of Hardwell and his acolytes. The Chipotle Gang will therefore benefit from an ideal environment for letting off steam to the powerful basses of trap, an explosive and swiftly growing style on the electronic dance music circuit. Carl Cox, meanwhile, will be presenting a 4-hour extended set to the delight of devotees of techno and tech-house vibrations. About 15,000 people are expected once again, from Sunday at 9 p.m. to Monday at 10 a.m., for this 13-hour marathon party and its Alice in Wonderland theme.

The official timetables, so you don’t miss your favorite artists.

Late changes: the challenges of programming

The organizers of Bal en Blanc wish to point out that these last-minute announcements are the result of a number of recent unforeseen situations. Our goal is still and always to present the best possible programming, and we’ve worked to that end exclusively over the last several weeks. Given the deadlines, numerous avenues were explored to replace Nervo, but the artists available on such short notice did not satisfy the criteria required to add an additional dimension to the event. Over in the Tech room, the negotiated and announced visit of Fatboy Slim also had to be a cancelled, again for family reasons. His Montreal set is nevertheless still in the cards, and we hope to be able to announce something along those lines at some point in the weeks ahead.
