Toronto’s Flash Lightnin’ join ZZ Top on tour – Listen to new single “One Pill” HERE:

Flash Lightnin’ celebrate the release of their new album For The Sinners with a bang, opening for ZZ Top across Western Canada this March. For The Sinners is the Toronto trio’s second full-length effort and is available on April 29, 2014 via Pheromone Recordings.

For the new album, guitar-hero Darren Glover and bassist Darcy Yates enlisted Juno Award-winning producer Gavin Brown (The Tragically Hip, Billy Talent, Metric) to capture their electrifying live sound on record. Brown does double duty on the record, both twiddling the knobs and pummelling the drums.

The band wrote more than 30 songs, but only ten made the final cut. What remains are stadium-ready bangers (“Last Breath”), stripped-down acoustic ballads (“Hard Feelings”), and working-class anthems (“Born With Money”) that reveal the band’s far-reaching influences. On the first single, “One Pill”, the band sound as ruthless and unyielding as a junkie with a serious affliction. The track has been a steady fixture in the Top 30 on alternative and active rock radio stations for over four months.

Aidan Knight tour dates announced

Aidan Knight announces North American and European tour dates – Watch new video for “MARGARET DOWN” HERE:

In advance of their upcoming North American and headlining European tour dates, Victoria, BC’s Aidan Knight release the video for “Margaret Downe”, from their latest album, Small Reveal.  Directed by Fort Langley, BC duo William Wilkinson and Oliver Brooks, the new video is a delicate and intimate portrayal of the song’s story. “I think their work is exciting, thought provoking, and visually impressive,” says Knight. “It’s a memorable portrait of heartbreak and loss.”

Wilkinson and Brooks say, “from the outset of the project it was clear to us that the heart of “Margaret Downe” is in Aidan’s detailed, narrative lyrics. Visually accompanying the song presented a challenge though: we were wary of creating imagery that would too literally convey the story… while on the other hand we felt it was important that the video still be thematically related to the song. Ultimately we settled on a structure that would allow us to explore Margaret Downe through a series of quiet vignettes, shadowing but not directly illustrating the story arc, letting the lyrics speak for themselves while revealing her world with careful cinematography and slow, deliberate pacing.”

The second studio album from Aidan Knight, Small Reveal, was recorded over ten days in ten different locations with producer Jonathan Anderson, capturing the tone and feel of each location.  The album presents themes of introspection, creativity, and escapism, resulting in a lushly arranged record that swirls around Knight’s voice.  The band returns to the road this spring for a tour that sees the quintet tackle Canada and the US before headlining in Europe.

Skydiggers announce slow burnin fire tour 2014
