PREMIERE: Ottawa’s Bearings release ‘Home Is…‘ EP

Comments Off on PREMIERE: Ottawa’s Bearings release ‘Home Is…‘ EP

The second release from the Capital City Quintet, Home Is… plays with an interesting pop punk composite, falling somewhere between the hair-flip days of the Mayday Parade generation and the newer finger-pointing, air-punching TSSF/Neck Deep sound. It’s aggressive yet understanding with an aired connotation of new wave lazy rock reminiscent of bands like Turnover and other Run For Cover choice picks. Bearings use their time wisely, checking all the proverbial boxes in only three tracks, with a quality production nod to Anton Delost. Doug Cousins, Collin Hanes, Jeremy Farkas, Ryan Culligan and Connor Kington have an EP release tour set for the end of the month and they are looking towards a a year full of pavement-pounding, ear-blasting, finger-blistering work.

Check out the stream below for Home Is… and Pay What You Can for the download. Jam away the winter blues or use them in your favour with this mean example of music-making.
