Meltybrains? – A unique band name in the form a question, however there is no question about their ability to move a crowd. All the way from Ireland, they traveled to Toronto to play in a small, cozy room in the The Piston lit by a revolving disco ball and armed with a fog machine. The band came on stage wearing their signature white masks splattered with colourful paint. The crowd started off dispersed in the room and curious about the band behind the masks. Shortly after the first song, everyone began to move to the ambient euphoric sounds. The band radiated with extreme energy and soon the crowd were immersed in the musical journey. A room of nodding heads and tapping feet soon turned to an energetic dance party.

Their genre is difficult to classify- a mix of experimental distortion and atmospheric sounds that are reminiscent of post-rock and psychedelic rock, but perhaps it’s best left indescribable because Meltybrains? certainly melts genres and styles to create a truly unique, mesmerizing sound.
