Paper Aeroplanes fly to Canada

Paper Aeroplanes
After an exciting first trip to SXSW in Austin earlier this year, Self-professed Emo-Folk duo Paper Aeroplanes were spotted by Winnipeg’s Pipe and Hat Records and invited to play their showcase at NXNE. Sarah’s haunting yet commanding voice with a hint of something celtic regularly gets compared to the likes of Emily Haines or Sarah McLachlan but the band’s music has a Nu-folk, Alternative Pop edge that could merge acts Tegan and Sara, Civil Wars and Susanne Vega.

The band cite many Canadian acts like Broken Social Scene and Feist as a big inspiration are looking forward to being able to play to fans in Toronto and Hamilton who have been waiting a few years to see them live. “People have always said our music could be well received in the US and Canada so we’re looking forward to finding out.” says lead singer Sarah about the forthcoming dates.

Sarah also says, “As I’m pretty Tea obsessed I’m looking forward to stocking up in Tealish and doing a bit of shopping in Queen Street West.”
