Who: A Primitive Evolution
From: Toronto, ON
Where: The Hideout CMW
When: Saturday, March 23, 2013 3 am

The Crowd: 3 am is not the time for the weak, some people had hit the road after an insanely long CMW week.  It was still very crowded with mix of fans and industry heavy weights. The crowd was loud and drunk and having fun. A Primitive Evolution got called on for an encore.

Style: Dark and Grungy, but with gothy vocals. Stu’s drumming is fantastic.

Technicalities: “I hope I don’t fuck this one up” said bassist Stephanie for one song.  That doesn’t sit well with me, own it, own all of it, even if there are fuck-ups.  She ended up owning the song anyway.

Memorable Song/Moment: An epic finale where Stephanie and Brett threw down their guitars and mic stands. Brett jumping into the crowd. And how can I forget the “Ace of Spades” cover! Just an awesome drunken 3am show.

Sex Appeal/Image: Dark and gothy with Playdead Cult clothing and accessories. Steph is a hot mess!

Comments: Personally, I enjoyed A Primitive Evolution way more than the other bands on the bill. I would just like to see them at an earlier time. And I loved how heavy they sound live!
