Tomás Doncker and the True Groove All-Stars announce summer tour dates
“If you are the big tree, we are the small axe, sharp and ready, ready to cut you down” – The words of Bob Marley ring truer each year as the powers that officiate us continue to push their own agendas and sweep greater misdeeds under the metaphorical rug. Legendary blues musician Tomás Doncker and his band the True Groove All-Stars, featuring Mac Gollehon, Marla Mase and Josh David, have announced a handful of summer tour dates in support of their racially charged full-length The Mess We Made, released in November of last year. The group continues to standup so that their message will be heard.
The record is important both socially, as a response to the Charleston massacre- the shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in South Carolina on the evening of June 17, 2015 that saw nine people lose their lives to unjust racial hatred, and musically, with Doncker and his band providing a fresh and impassioned take on their genre.
