During CMW 2012 Toronto based artist Daniella Watters felt confident to enter RDR Music Group’s Street Idol contest.  She entered the song “Missing My Love’ which will be her first single and video from her first solo project, a self titled EP to include four tracks.

Joe Wood from RDR comments “There are singers and then there are people who sing songs. Daniella Watters is a singer through and through. She is one of this country’s best kept secrets but not for long!   This prize includes four weeks of radio promotion, submission to radio, music video submission to MuchMusic and her own RDR Music Group iPhone App!! She is both honoured and excited.

Daniella has an extensive background in music, musical theatre, and dance. She recorded her first song at age eleven, was a member of a pop group by age twelve, and was a member of Untamed, a girl pop band, alongside Alithea Watters and Kim Moffit by age 14. Untamed’s official single, You’re Not Gonna Score, was played on heavy rotation on Toronto radio station Kiss ’92. Untamed released You’re Not Gonna Score on MuchMusic and the video for Nothing In This World played on 36 stations across Canada. Untamed released their debut album Go All Out in 2002 and performed countless shows across Canada and the US.

Currently Daniella plays in three different bands, performing covers and originals. This extremely hard working singer-songwriter is very excited to be releasing her first solo CD and to perform it at  Uptown Loft, 2464 Yonge Street Toronto on August 22.  Daniella is currently choosing a director and video treatment to produce a video to support her first single for Missing My Love, details to be announced.
